How do I find game tester jobs online?

There are many different ways to find game tester jobs online. One of the first ways is to do all the research yourself. Another way is to have a connection at a video game company. Lastly, the best way I have found to find a game tester job online is to leverage other people’s research.
1. Do all the research yourself.
This is not really my most favorite way to find game tester jobs online. Why? The reason is extremely simple….it takes TONS of time! If you are like me then you don’t have a whole lot of free time available to do the research.

What would you look for if you did have the time? First, you could start by checking out the different video game companies websites to see if they are hiring. One of the main disadvantages of this is the fact that they usually hire in-staff game testers directly on the website. If that is ok for you then go for it! I have always liked to work at home. It was the whole reason I started looking for game tester jobs online.
2. Have a connection at a video game company.
This is probably the best approach but the only problem is most of the time you don’t know anyone who works at a video game company. If you do they are usually extremely careful of trying to get people they know hired due to the extreme competition of the video game industry.
If you do get someone that puts in a good word or two and they have some say in the company you could get a game tester job at the company. What is the problem with this? Really….the only problem is this is another way to work AT a video game company. Like I said earlier and I know you are wanting to find a game tester job online so you can work at home!
3. Leverage other people’s game tester jobs research.
Why is this important? You don’t have to do all the research by yourself which saves you a lot of time. Also, a lot of different ways have usually been tried by other people and if they find something that doesn’t work or is out-dated they remove it so you won’t waste your time trying something that doesn’t work at all.
Most places do offer membership subscriptions to their information due to the fact that they have spent hours and hours to get this information. They are updated all the time and I have used these for a while now.
